Dear King Philip Community,
It has been brought to our attention that several area districts have received “swatting” calls today.
“Swatting” is a hoax in which a caller seeks to bring about a significant police response by making a non-credible threat of violence.
Out of an abundance of caution, KP school officials have been in contact with the Wrentham and Norfolk Police Departments and there will be an increased police presence at the schools today. As of right now, there has been no threat made toward any KP schools. In the event that any school were to receive a threat, we would immediately initiate our established safety procedures to ensure the well-being of students and staff.
