Superintendent Paul Zinni, King Philip DECA Marketing Coordinator James Dow and King Philip DECA Vice President of Marketing Emma Sheehan wish to provide an update on the start of the school year for the high school’s DECA chapter.
It is a new year with new beginnings for KP DECA, the high school’s internationally-recognized student business and entrepreneurship organization.
Last year was a huge success for the KP DECA chapter considering that all competitions were held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic. More exciting things are ahead for KP DECA this year as the chapter is welcoming sophomores for the third year and is currently planning for in-person competitions this year.
Additionally, the chapter’s senior officers for the 2021-2022 school year have been announced. They are:
- President Samantha Asprelli
- Vice President of Marketing Emma Sheehan
- Vice President of Leadership Grace Clyde
- Vice President of Finance Jared Curran
- Vice President of Hospitality Isabella Fraone
- Vice President of Career Development Makayla Hickey
- Vice President of Membership Laura Gelsomini
Elections for sophomore and junior representatives will be held in the coming months. These representatives will be joining the King Philip DECA officer team and will represent their sophomore and junior classes.
On Sept. 30, KP DECA members will utilize the high school’s annual open house as an opportunity to showcase their 2021-2022 DECA projects.
On Nov. 18, King Philip DECA will hold its annual breakfast and installation ceremony as the official start of the King Philip DECA season. Parents and students will come together to celebrate the induction of new members and senior officers.
