King Philip, Norfolk, Plainville and Wrentham School community members are invited to attend the upcoming event, Saturday School for Parents, this weekend.
On Saturday, May 6, beginning at 9:30 a.m., parents, caregivers and guardians are invited to attend Saturday School for Parents at the King Philip Middle School, 18 King St., Norfolk.
As part of the event, attendees will be able to visit a wellness resource fair, listen to a keynote speaker and participate in workshops of their choice. The schedule for the day is as follows:
9:30 a.m. – WELLNESS RESOURCE FAIR/CHECK IN
10:00 a.m. – KEYNOTE: JOANIE GELTMAN
11:15 a.m. – VISIT RESOURCE FAIR OR SELECT A WORKSHOP
12:15 p.m. – SELECT A WORKSHOP
Keynote Speaker Joanie Geltman will present “Joani’s Top 10 Parenting Tips” at the event. Geltman is a parenting expert, writer, therapist, speaker and blogger.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to choose which workshops they’d like to sit in on. Workshops include the following:
- How to Raise an Anti-Racist, presented by KP’s Regional Director of DEI and Tri-town Community Members
- Nutrition Essentials: Improving the Food Landscape for Our Children & Teenagers, presented by Local Nutrition Educator and a Certified Health Coach
- Tools for Engaging in Compassionate Conversations with Youth around Substance Use/ Hidden in Plain Sight, presented by Healthy KP Substance Use Prevention Coalition Coordinator
